Create a floral focal point in your office. Here’s how to decorate an old or new file cabinet with flowers made of Expressions Washi Tape*, Expressions Masking Tape* and Expressions Magic™ Tape*.

*May damage some substrates upon removal.

  • EXPERT TIP: Play with the shapes you use to create your flower petals!

  • Clean and dry the surface. Remove drawers from cabinet and place them tight together. Create the pattern in one piece.

  • Create a background with a light, patterned masking tape over the entire surface to be decorated.

  • Cut strips of tape in half long-ways to create different length stems. Use a ruler on a cutting mat to stay even. Place stems vertically across file drawers.

  • Use scissors to cut individual “petals,” creating triangular shapes that can be placed in circles to create flowers. For dimension and to create an illustrative quality, layer a smaller flower inside a larger one in a contrasting color. Place flowers at top of stems.

  • Next, cut leaf shapes from tape. On some, use a hobby knife to cut small “v” shapes from the center of the leaves. Place leaves along the stems.

  • Use a hobby knife or razor to separate the drawers. Trim edges and any excess tape. Place the drawers back into the cabinet.
